Run to Stop Child Trafficking - Higher Ground

SnowYak Foundation’s one of the main objectives has been to provide necessary boost to the socio-educational development in rural areas of Nepal with active contribution and participation of only Nepalese by promoting the organization’s slogan “Nation - Dignity - Responsibility.”

Higher Ground has been supporting the eDolpa project of SnowYak Foundation since 2014. Higher Ground’s Run to Stop Child Trafficking campaign has been initiated to raise awareness about child trafficking in different parts of Nepal and its minimization and ultimately prevention. This can be possible basically through educational development in the rural areas.

Higher Ground has raised some funds through this campaign for the solely Nepali funded school, Shree Yangzer Primary School in Nizal, Saldang through programs like Tenzin Hillary Everest Marathon (May 29, 2014), Annapurna 50K Marathon and other short distance running events. Bimala Shrestha Pokharel of Higher Ground handed over NPR 800,000 in FY 2072/73 to SnowYak Foundation.

Out of the NPR 800,000 provided by Higher Ground, NPR 500,000 has been handed over to School Management Committee for construction of building. Hira Bahadur Buda was paid salary of NPR 100,000 and travelling allowance of NPR 20,000. Bishnu Lal Buda was paid salary of NPR 90,000 and travelling allowance of NPR 20,000. NPR 25,000 was incurred during inquiry of available wood stock for the school building in Nizal. NPR 35,000 was spent to obtain the wood permit for school. The remaining NPR 10,000 was spent for miscellaneous expenses.
