WHAT ARE WE DOING CURRENTLY?
The major success of SnowYak Foundation has been the management of Shree Yanjer Gumba Primary School as the solely Nepali funded school at Nyisal village of Upper Dolpa, which is serving better education to the children of Nyisal and surrounding 4 villages. The school is currently providing education to 40 students. The school has students from grades 1 to 5 and plans to provide higher education. We are also supporting other schools at Karang, Tiling, Beshgad, Chun, Chhala and Tripurakot through this Foundation. SnowYak Foundation is also supporting the senior citizens of Saldang village for their livelihood through Ibhi Meme project.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
You can contribute in cash or kind to support any of the schools. You can also support individual child for their higher education. We work in transparent and efficient way providing the maximum benefit of your support amount directly to the children of Dolpa.
PROJECT EDUCATE-DOLPA
Dolpa is the largest district of Nepal and the Upper Dolpa, most remote region of Nepal. The region is deprived of all basic infrastructures required for proper life, including education and health. The residents of the district have to struggle hard even for the basic requirements in life. The primary reason for lack of development of the region is lack of education facilities and educated human resources. Out of the 22 schools in Upper Dolpa registered with the government, only 11 schools are operating in the region, but with international support. Therefore, the SYF is making an effort to be self-sufficient for educating our children and giving a fair opportunity to them to have access to quality education. Our major goal is to educate and empower the children of Dolpa so that they can make better decisions for themselves and be future leaders to develop their own community.
